The RICPG seeks applications for membership on an ongoing basis. Individuals are either self-nominated or nominated by others for membership.
Members who do not represent an organization are reimbursed $37.50/meeting for transportation and childcare costs.
Membership Responsibilities
RICPG members must:
- Participate actively in the community planning process and in RICPG meetings.
- Attend regular and special meetings of the full RICPG for the full duration of
the meeting. Failure to attend regular meetings, as indicated in Section 9.1 of the Charter, during each planning year may be cause for removal from the RICPG.
- Notify RICPG facilitator at least 24 hours in advance if unable to attend RICPG or CCC meeting (i.e. "excused absence").
- Share professional and personal experience and expertise with the RICPG.
- Serve as liaison with the public regarding community planning and activities. Keep the RICPG informed about the needs of the public.
- Assist in recruitment of RICPG members, committee and task force/work group participants.
- Participate in the RICPG orientation process and additional trainings and updates that RICPG sponsors.
- Become familiar with the Charter of the RICPG and the RI Comprehensive Plan for HIV Prevention.
- Review materials prior to meetings in preparation for meeting discussion.
- Serve as mentors to new members of the RI Community Planning Group.
- All RICPG members must be members and participate on the Community Capacity Committee.
- Failure to attend at least 50% of CCC meetings during each planning year may be cause for removal from the RICPG.
- Bring questions and concerns to the RICPG co-chairs.
- Communicate in a timely fashion to requests from Co-Chairs, members, Facilitator and REACH facilitator.
